Dutchman selected to sing at Elvis’ Graceland memorial

By

Singer Bouke Scholten from Emmen, by no means an Elvis impersonator, was hand picked to sing at Elvis Presley’s memorial marking the 35th anniversary of the singer’s death last Thursday, August 16.

Although the Dutch media focused on having a Dutchman sing at the memorial, a rare privilege, his performance was overshadowed by ex-wife Priscilla and daughter Lisa Marie making a surprise appearance together for the first time at a memorial since they started holding them in 1980.

The unknown Scholten had two songs to convince some 800 fans from around the world, and he succeeded in his own way, with his second number, Suspicious Minds.

Just happened to hear Bourk. I was so impressed. He is outstanding. I would love to go to Graceland to hear him. I have never been to Graceland. Pretty busy taking care of my 94 yr old Dad. I could listen most of the day to his songs.

I just love Bouke I listen to him everyday on YouTube and all the songs he sings are great and when he sings Elvis songs you can’t tell if it’s
him or Elvis because he sounds so much like Elvis
I wish someday he would have a concert here in Connecticut I would be right in the front row.

I have started watching everything I can find on BOUKE. I have become obsessed with this great singer and his talent. He is not an Elvis impersonator. He is his own person and so happy to find him at this stage of my life. I just turned 79 and now I dance around the house when I play his videos YouTube.
Thank BOUKE for putting a little zip back in my life.

  11. Brenda Elkins says:

I can’t believe that neither Lisa nor Priscilla mentioned Bouke being at Graceland when they were there. Perhaps they didn’t even want to see his concert respecting the memory of Elvis? If not they missed a beautiful event. It’s astonishing that thousands and thousands of fans tout Bouke’s singing and THEY HAVE NEVER MADE A COMMENT – his voice is more like Elvis than any impersonator who tried to mimic him, I feel Bouke is real and sings great and “dances and shimmy’s” in his own way and should be approached by Priscilla for his “great” singing of some of Elvis’s great songs,…

  12. Lavonda LOTT says:

I have just accidentally found Bouke and he does make Elvis seem alive. But let me say this, I loved the king and his music but young guy Bouke is right up there with Elvis. You are causing people to fall deeply in love with you and your music

Bouke and Elvis are brother kindreds!

  14. Privy says:

Is this the same Bouke who was married, had a son and then
transitioned from a women to a man? Confusing

  15. Crystal Griffith RN says:

I recently found Bouke and have to say that I have never thought much about reincarnation but listening to him makes me wonder. Most other singers are just a little off singing Elvis songs, but when I heard Bouke, he blew me away. So glad he has transitioned from a young 20-something into a mature man and is finding his place in the world.
